Duncan Stark

President & Founder

Duncan grew up in a building family, starting with N&K Homes in Richmond, Virginia, where he learned how to frame the structures of new homes. He continued his education at Hampden-Sydney College. Duncan furthered his industry knowledge between college summers by working for a masonry contractor, where he learned how to build patios, veneer natural stones, and way brick walls. After college, he returned to the home building industry, leading a framing/custom home building crew: reading plans, consulting with customers, directing employees, and overseeing the start to finish of builds. Finally, after nearly ten years of industry experience, he started D.W. Stark Homes.

Charlie Doetzer

Owner & Founder

Charlie graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in Economics, where he met Duncan Stark. With over three years of experience in the industry, Charlie spent a few of his college summers building decks and other projects in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. After graduating, Charlie continued to do framing and finish work in Richmond, VA, before moving to Wilmington. He looks forward to growing the New Hanover county area and is committed to bringing the finest quality of work to Wilmington and the surrounding areas with D. W. Stark Homes.
